Last week, and the week before that, our Cowboys scratched, clawed, and MacGyver’d their way into two wins. This is not to be confused with the Jets and Lions game, where they MacGruber’d their way into two losses. The Miami game was not a “trap game” after the 1st 7 games, but coming off a 3-game win streak, the Dolphins forgot about their record and went into this game thinking they were undefeated. They played us hard, and I find it hard to believe that Jason Garrett would have allowed his team to take these Dolphins lightly. The Cowboys were [...]
It looks like the Dallas Cowboys are continuing to churn the bottom of the roster. Several news sources are reporting that Akwasi Owusu-Ansah was cut Tuesday. Many fans have been calling for him to be cut after two weeks of being ineffective as a returner. He did have a 21 yard punt return last week that seems to get overlooked. The speculation is that he was cut to make room for FB Shaun Chapas; he was a 2011 7th round draft choice, and he is currently on the practice squad. The scouting reports on Chapas varied quite a bit in [...]
The Final Word From Thursday’s Win
Dallas Cowboys-related tweet of the week: @MelissaRae The Dallas Cowboys might accidentally tackle cheerleaders on the sidelines, but they would never tackle a DCC’s twitter acct. By now, you probably know everything that has to do with our Thanksgiving victory against the Miami Dolphins. You know Tony rebounded nicely from a rough first quarter to make some great plays late to lead us to victory. You know Dan Bailey is money. You know the defense again made an inferior quarterback look fantastic. Even so, let’s take one final look at our 20-19 nail-biting win.

Inside the Game: Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins
I said it last week, and I’ll say it again: as Romo goes, so go the Cowboys. Watching the game on Thanksgiving, it was obvious that Romo was the reason the Cowboys won that game. Despite his two early interceptions, Romo made plays in the fourth quarter that many quarterbacks could only dream about. I counted at least four plays where the defense had him dead-to-rights for a sack, and yet somehow he managed to get the ball away and complete the pass for a first down. I mentioned last week how Romo was almost Vick-like in his escapism abilities; [...]
IPCQ: Week 12, Dallas Cowboys VS Miami Dolphins. I ate turkey. The Cowboys ate dolphin
I ntroduction: Thanksgiving means many things. It means great weather (In Texas, anyway). It means great food. It means that you will see family members that you really don’t see very often. Even the bad ones. But somehow, the NFL has managed to muscle it’s way into this holiday like a bear moon walking through a flock of flamingos. At some point in American history, Thanksgiving Day became synonymous with football. And who can complain? Football makes turkey taste better. And turkey makes football more fun to watch. I think that Pat Summerall’s career benefited greatly from this. Sometimes when [...]
Identifying The Dallas Cowboy’s Core Players
About this time every year I like to start to identify those Cowboys players I believe are the core of the team. Those players that are synonymous with the Dallas Cowboys, whether by the irreplaceable quality of their play or their identity as the faces of the Franchise. Last year, for 2010, I chose 5 players as the core. In no certain order they were: Dez Bryant; Tony Romo; DeMarcus Ware; Jason Witten; and Matt McBriar (yes, the punter). Now, this is not the same as saying – if I was starting a team who would I want on it. [...]
Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins Review: Defense
Well, the Dallas Cowboys played another ridiculously close game this week against the Miami Dolphins. This pic has nothing to do with the article, but her facial expression deserves the front page. I will list the things that stood out to me as I watched the game, and then conclude with my thoughts about Rob Ryan’s defense and the secondary. When I read some of the game reviews this week, I was pretty surprised at how unhappy the Cowboy fans were. I sometimes think the fans will only be happy when we score at least 30 and hold the opposition [...]
First, Rob, let me say – I like you. I like your attitude. You bring an unapologetic bravado to the Dallas Cowboys that we desperately need. We are much more physical and aggressive. Also, Rob, clearly you care about these Cowboys players and, as a result, they want to play hard for you. They are buying in to your system and won’t quit on you like they did on Wade (at least I don’t think they will. You really can’t completely trust a unit once they’ve quit before, that includes DeMarcus Ware. Anyone who disagrees with this statement didn’t watch [...]
Cowboys Looking for a Secondary Reason to Give Thanks
Despite two early interceptions that nearly cost the Cowboys a chance to win against the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day, Tony Romo valiantly lead two masterful scoring drives in the second half that proved to be the difference. Dan Bailey’s chip-shot field goal that ended the game was a relief for Cowboys fans everywhere; another week, another close win against a poor football team. There were, however, a lot of good things for which to be thankful on this holiday. 1) Tony Romo was in complete control in the second half. On the final drive, Tony escaped the grasp of [...]
