Thanksgiving Day Picks & Predictions: Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins

facebooktwitterreddit

Every week we ask all of The Landry Hat writers and contributors to submit their picks and predictions for the upcoming game. This week, we asked our experts for their opinion on the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Miami Dolphins game on Thanksgiving.

Steven Mullenax, Editor & Head Writer: Just a few weeks ago, the Miami Dolphins were to the  NFL what the Washington Generals were to the Harlem Globetrotters. Now their riding a three game winning streak and Cowboy Nation has their collective underpants in a wod about a possible upset loss. Who did the Dolphins beat exactly? The Bills, the Redskins, and the Chiefs. The real creme of the crop there. This is a cake walk. Dallas is at home and it’s November. Miami will not even know what hit ’em. Romo will be “Tebowing” at halftime and I will be full by kickoff. Dallas 42, Miami 13.

Ashley Bolton, Staff Writer: Miami is coming off an impressive 3 game winning streak, including an absolute killing of Buffalo. I think the Cowboys are a better team but there are times that the Boys don’t always play like it. I expect a much better game out of the defense and I see Romo and the offense continuing to roll the way they have been. I think it is closer than would like but Cowboys win by a field goal. 24-21!

Simus1974, Video Contributor: First to each & every one have a wonderful thanksgiving. 2nd, I hope this thanksgiving game will clear my head of the “Roy Williams Thanksgiving Chokejob” from last year. 3rd… Bring back the turkey dance from a few years back would be nice. 4th, Cowboys beat Dolphins 30-17 🙂

Robert Diton, Staff Writer: Remember when the Dolphins were 0-7 and Tony Sporano was one misstep away from getting fired? Now, (it feels weird to even type this) Miami is on a three-game winning streak and their defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown in 12 straight quarters. Matt Moore only threw for 160 yards against Buffalo, but he did end up with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. Hopefully, that Redskins game put a shock into the Cowboys and proved that there are no easy games in the NFL. I see them bouncing back from a pretty average effort on Sunday, and giving the home crowd something to cheer about on Thanksgiving Day. Cowboys 27, Miami 10

Seth Jones, Staff Writer: The Dolphins are on a rampage! We will lose by 30 points. And it’s pretty obvious, guys. How can we slow down one of the ocean’s most intelligent predators? They are too smart, too fast, and just— Oh, I forgot. They aren’t actual dolphins. In that case, Cowboys win 29-26. All of the Cowboys’ points will be scored in the first quarter. Rob Ryan will have a mild heart attack, but will remain on the field to finish the game. I will eat turkey. I love you all. I love thanksgiving football. I’m crying as I type this.

Mark Contreras, Video Contributor & Staff Writer: The Cowboys did not look good against a very poor Washington team this past Sunday. The Dolphins (like Dallas) are also on a 3-game winning streak and are looking to make it 4 behind their red-hot QB (former Cowboy) Matt Moore. If the Cowboys defense struggled to stop the Redskins putrid offense and made Rex Grossman look like a star, what are we do expect against a surging Miami team? Rob Ryan had better figure it out quick because this Thursday game appears as though will also come down to the wire in another classic Thanksgiving Day battle. Cowboys 27 Dolphins 20.

Artie Cappello, Staff Writer: Remember back when a small part of the Dallas Cowboys split off ?  Eventually the small part that split settled in Miami where it merged with Dolphins run by the Big Tuna. They spoke of the ‘Big Cat’ in the snow in Dallas and of the Red-Headed Genius that Miami allowed to join the Cowboys and other shared memories. At first they contemplated calling themselves ‘The Dallas Cowboys of Miami’, but decided to just remain the Miami Dolphins. Well, guess what? They’ve returned and they brought all the off-shoots and a three game winning streak with them.  Suffice it to say we know each other well.  I’m hoping talent wins out here.   Dallas 24, Miami 17

Tonni Shook, Staff Writer: While the Dallas Cowboys defense was a bit suspect in the 4th quarter last week, my belief is they will shape up for Turkey Day. Miami Dolphins come to town, and while they are swimming in on a three game winning streak themselves, the ‘phins will not stop the Cowboy offense.  Mr. November and trusty Dan Bailey team up for another victory. It has been a long standing tradition in my family that we eat turkey and we watch the Dallas Cowboys.  This will never change.  Cowboys 30, Dolphins 10

Marney Robinson, Staff Writer: The Cowboys are coming off a game that was much closer than it should have been versus the Redskins, with limited time to prepare for Miami. Still, I don’t see the Boys dropping the ball on this one.  Fiammetta is still out, so the running may continue to struggle a bit.  I say Cowboys 24, Dolphins 14.

C. Joseph Wright, Asst Editor and Staff Writer:  I haven’t done my homework on the Dolphins, but two things stick out at me: this is in Dallas, and it is Rovember.  Romo will play well, they will be able to run the ball better than last week.  The defense should bounce back from a less than stellar performance last week.  Rob Ryan rarely has bad gameplans twice in a row.  The Boys will continue their winning streak this week.
