There's no getting around the fact that this particular number doesn't carry the legacy as some of the others. Sadly, from an overall standpoint, the most notable name on this list is Hall of Fame wideout Tommy McDonald, who made his name with the rival Philadelphia Eagles, but spent one season in Dallas in 1964.
Truth be told, the second-biggest name on the list is safety/punter Jerry Norton, who made a pair of Pro Bowls as McDonald's teammate in Philly and three more with the Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals before coming to the Cowboys for a single season of his own in 1962.
But as far as those who spent more than one year in Big D are concerned, strong safety Xavier Woods deserves to be mentioned, as his four-year run with the club from 2017 to 2020 was good enough to give him the runner-up slot here.
But our winner is another defensive back, one who took on the unenviable task of having to replace an all-time Cowboys legend: cornerback Aaron Kyle.
Aaron Kyle was the first defensive back ever taken by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the NFL draft
An All-WAC selection in 1975 for the Wyoming Cowboys, Kyle was taken 27th overall in the 1976 NFL Draft, thus making him the first defensive back ever taken in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys. So, throw that into your trivia night to score some points.
While the Detroit native didn't crack the starting lineup on defense as a rookie, he did get some backup snaps and was a solid player on special teams, blocking a pair of punts.
In 1977, Kyle took over as the starter at right cornerback, replacing 10-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Famer Mel Renfro, who was ultimately playing his last season.
While Kyle dealt with some wrist issues throughout the year, which caused him to miss a few games, he was healthy enough to get through the postseason and was one of several Dallas defenders to show out in Super Bowl 12, recording an interception and a fumble recovery in the Cowboys' 27-10 victory over the Denver Broncos.
Kyle spent just two more seasons in Dallas, tallying five interceptions in those two campaigns before closing out his career playing three seasons with the same Broncos he'd beaten in the Super Bowl, ultimately retiring following the 1982 strike-shortened season.
