You can catch a short piece with The Landry Hat here on the New York Times blog. A year ago I would have never been noticed by these guys, or anyone else for that matter.
I’m home sick today. I woke up aching like I boulder fell on me in my sleep. So here are a few stories you might find interesting to read besides the NYTimes piece:
Dallas Morning News speculating what if one of the back-up tight ends gets injured. Kind of silly.
Is Brooks Bollinger a better choice than Brad Johnson? Football Insiders answer it here.
Giants will key in on [...]
Welcome to another edition of The Landry Hat Video Blog. A very special guest today on the eve of Halloween. Today, The Landry Hat will discuss the upcoming Giants game with a special guest!
Daryl “Moose” Johnston, a Buffalo native, was honored there today, and after he received his accolades, he proceeded to slam his former team. Sure, he’s not Jimmy Johnson, who has been hammering the Cowboys all year, and recently called them “sloppy” but the Moose makes a claim that the Cowboys are pretty, pretty bad without Tony Romo.
OK…he won’t get a ton of argument with that out of me, but you can read this article to get a full understanding of what he said.
“That’s a team that has more issues that were brought to the forefront when Tony went out of [...]
As painful as it is to say it, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten needs to sit out Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. According to this blog post from Mickey Spagnola, it hurts for Witten to even breathe.
Rookie tight end Martellus Bennett, the Cowboys’ second-round pick, has stepped in nicely and made some key catches already this year after a shaky training camp. He can play the role for three weeks as Witten fully heals.
The pressure this puts on the Cowboys coaching staff is figuring out how to get the ball to their star wide outs, Roy Williams [...]
NFL Power Rankings: Week 8
By James Masse Aka. Ironman
All four NFC East teams hold on this week; Dallas Cowboys take wild-card spot from Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
*MY POWER RANKINGS AFTER WEEK 8
1. Titans
Who would have guessed this? And with their backup QB!!!! The Cowboys should have traded a 1st, a 3rd and a 6th for Kerry Collins!!!!
2. Giants
The Giant are a force! The Romo-less Cowboys are coming up.
3. Panthers
This team is well rounded. They find a way to win almost every week.
4. Steelers
The Steelers handed the Giants this win. They should be 6-1
5. Redskins
The Redskins keep struggling to beat bad teams, but a win is [...]

It’s no secret that the Dallas Cowboys have issues with Tony Romo’s backups. Brad Johnson and Brooks Bollinger are no good. If Jerry Jones knows what he’s doing (I still have faith in Jerry), he should think about finding a decent backup. We have the picks to do it, too (one in the 2nd, one in the third, two in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth, two in the seventh).
This article from Fox Sports lists their top ten senior quarterbacks for the 2009 draft. One quarterback that caught my eye was Texas Tech’s [...]
DeMarcus Ware’s Sack Streak Ends
I find it ironic that DeMarcus Ware’s sack steak ended after a game that turned out to be the Dallas Cowboys best defensive performance of the year. Ware tied former Denver Broncos defensive end Simon Fletcher, who also had a sack in 10 consecutive games.
This is what Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden said about DeMarcus Ware:
”It is like blocking five defensive lineman on every snap. Lets be honest, they play a lot of zone, they rushed five, and they mixed it in there with some zone blitzes throughout the day. Ware is a great player. I don’t want to [...]
ESPN is using those mysterious sources to report that Jason Witten has a fractured rib.
Witten, who is the Dallas Cowboys leading receiver, says he plans to play through the pain against the New York Giants. Now, ESPN wants readers to believe this is a very serious injury.
Folks, ESPN is garbage. A fractured rib is actually a pretty common injury for contact sports. Players often continue playing in games and don’t miss much time. I am sure what Witten has might be a few fractured ribs and that’s causing the pain to be a little more harsh.
The only real concern is [...]
