Folks, I am going out for some festive beer drinking. Today I had the most visitors in the history of this site. Thank you. I really enjoy blogging about America’s Team. I appreciate every visitor and every comment.
I started blogging about the Dallas Cowboys in July under the site DallasCowboys24/7. Within a few months I joined an NFL community and I adopted the new name The Landry Hat. Oh What A Success! Rather quickly it has become a great hobby and I enjoy rattling your cages. You bring it. I bring it. And at the end of the day, we’re [...]

Happy New Year
I won’t harp on the questionable hit all week, but it must be discussed a little bit more. The Dallas Morning News reports today that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terry Glenn isn’t so sure Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry (learn how to spell his name Calvin “Tattle-tale” Watkins) was really “going for the ball.” In fact, what he says is pretty damming for the Redskins. You can watch the play here.
“It shocked me,” Glenn said. “I had no idea that was going to happen. Those guys were out there trying to really take it to my knee. They know if [...]
If anyone thinks the controversy over the Tony Romo-Jessica Simpson love affair would have fizzled their public companionship, they are dead wrong. MSNBC reports that Simpson accompanied Romo on his weekly radio gig “Inside the Huddle” on Dec. 26. WTF?
Why is Romo bringing this bimbo to a football radio interview? I honestly don’t see the benefit to this. Why couldn’t he have sent her to Wendy’s or something for a large chili and chicken salad instead of holding his hand, bad thumb in all, during the interview?
Now, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sees the situation is a problem for Romo. [...]
Ode to the Redskins
I lost a bet to one of this blog’s top posters, GeHenna. The Washington Redskins put a thumping on the Dallas Cowboys yesterday afternoon. That means I have to write a positive piece about the Redskins, their success, and their accomplishments. This isn’t an easy task, and I think GeHenna knew this when he made the bet. But a bet is a bet, and here I go.
What in the hell is this? Did LaRon Landry purposely try to cripple Terry Glenn, possibly ending his career? It sure looks like a suspicious hit to me. Glenn was playing his first game of the year after a serious knee injury. The second time he was thrown to, Landry does a slide right into Glenn’s knees. Another shameful play from the Washington Redskins defense. Yeah, you won. Hopefully, we see you in Round 2 of the playoffs. Glad you enjoyed beating our second team.Glenn was shown looking up at the screen to see how Landry hit him. But [...]
Dallas Crushed 27-6
A meaningless game for the Dallas Cowboys tonight really had the feeling of worthlessness. The Washington Redskins dominated the Cowboys to make the playoffs. Even if Dallas won, the Redskins still would have made it because the Vikings lost, too.
Dallas has a bye for the playoffs. The Redskins move on to play the Seahawks. There’s no need to get all grumpy over this loss. I could see from the performance that no one cared about winning. Tony Romo had his fourth questionable game in a row. He was 7-16 with one interception. Maybe the most glaring statistic is how the [...]
Why the hell hasn’t Marion Barber been signed to a long-term contract? Is Dallas really going to trade up with Miami to pick Arkansas running back Darren McFadden? I just wanted to throw that out there because it’s a post that is well overdue here.
This afternoon, the famed Dallas Cowboys (13-2) come to Landover, MD, for a game against division rival, the Washington Redskins (8-7).
Redskins fans will have you believe that their team should have won the first game against the Cowboys. But the team’s franchise quarterback Jason Campbell through an interception to Terence Newman in Dallas territory that wrapped [...]
I am convinced that Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb will be traded in the off season. His name is invoked the most on sports talk radio and it is obvious the Eagles need to start looking at their QB in the wings Kevin “Babyface” Kolb.
Today I received pretty good information that the Minnesota Vikings have already inquired about a possible trade. But teams aren’t offering a whole lot for the aging QB in Green. The highest I heard was a third-round draft pick and a player.
Ian, at insidetheiggles.com, has been nothing but an Eagles organization mouthpiece, believing the nonsense coming [...]
The Landry Hat has been in a festive mood lately. First, I allow vicious Redskins fan GeHenna to participate in a QandA. Then, I invite Dave at Riggo’s Rag over for some fun. Now, I bring to you the bitter Andrew Iden, a lifetime Washington Redskins fan who hates America’s Team. I’ve known Iden since 2001 when we worked together at a small newspaper in Virginia. That was my first newspaper gig. He would wear those ugly Redskins hats to work, and I’d often vomit. Luckily, we were pals when the Dallas Cowboys started the massive winning steak the team [...]
Interview With Riggo’s Rag
Dave, at Riggo’s Rag, was kind enough to come over to The Landry Hat to answer five questions. Dave is a professional. But his readers come over here to attack me. This is expected. Anyway, thanks to Dave at Riggo’s Rag for participating.
1. Is Joe Gibbs done? That double time out against Buffalo was real sad. Can a diehard Redskins fan really say fire Gibbs?
You will never hear me say we should fire Joe Gibbs. Gibbs can go 0-16 for the next twenty years. He’s my coach. The three Lombardi trophies sitting in the display case [...]
