It actually happened.

Jerry Jones finally did it. The Dallas Cowboys took a huge risk by trading for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens in a deal that screams, "are you happy now?"

Cowboys fans have to feel like it's been far too long since Jones has followed through on a big-time promise.

After all, this is a franchise that hasn't been to a Super Bowl in nearly three decades. For an owner who has infamously used the phrase "all-in" on a Super Bowl in recent years, the Cowboys surely haven't seen him follow through.

Now, Jones finally made a move to send some shockwaves as the team filled a big-time need by acquiring a second playmaker for Dak Prescott.

And make no mistake, it is a huge gamble.

Jerry Jones finally follows through on his promise, but it'll come with a cost

Not only did it cost the Cowboys a third-round pick to trade for Pickens (among other swaps), but a major decision will need to be made.

Pickens is entering the final year of his contract and, clearly, the Steelers had no intention to keep him around. The Cowboys now get left with that major decision.

One of the biggest reasons why the Steelers didn't want to commit to Pickens seems all too obvious. It's the fact that his attitude and antics have gone way too far at times.

Sometimes, he's even had a difficult time controlling his emotional responses at the worst possible moments; i.e. when the game is on the line, late in the fourth quarter.

The Cowboys now have to figure out how they will manage Pickens' behavior while also gauging whether or not he's worth the money he will undoubtedly demand. That's a tall task for a team that has yet to pay Micah Parsons, too, mind you.

Pickens is a talented wide receiver, no question. But, the Cowboys just took on a massive risk.
