Jerry Jones feeling great about the Dallas Cowboys draft class might be a dangerous thing for the rest of the league.
The Cowboys absolutely crushed the 2025 NFL Draft no matter what way you slice it, even though they probably had more "needs" going into the draft than they could realistically cover in any scenario. But they got three first-round talents (or, at the very least, three players who were projected to go in the first round of mock drafts) and they might have a little extra pep in their step.
Jerry Jones understands the team still needs to do something at the wide receiver position and he's teasing something potentially big.
Cowboys might have big wide receiver move bubbling beneath the surface
Those are some interesting words from Jerry Jones right there. It gives credence to the report that the Cowboys were potentially looking into making a trade with an AFC North team for a veteran receiver, and Dallas reportedly was going to take Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan if he would have been available at 12 overall. Even though that didn't end up being the case, the need remained.
The Cowboys didn't just pivot to the next-best receiver on their board, and ultimately the only receivers that have been brought in are undrafted guys.

So how much longer are we going to have to wait? Will the Cowboys be able to make a deal for someone soon? Nobody in NFL Free Agency is really going to move the needle all that much at this point, but a trade for someone of note -- someone like George Pickens -- would potentially shake things up in the NFC East for the Cowboys.
Pairing up CeeDee Lamb with another big-time target in the passing game is going to be essential, especially if the Cowboys want to find success with their budget-friendly free agent running back additions (Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders). In order for those guys to have success, the Cowboys are going to need to keep the safeties back and have the consistent threat in the passing game, and right now, Lamb is the only guy really threatening teams.
Adding a player like Pickens, or perhaps another notable veteran receiver, would set this offense off. As much as the free agent class is underwhelming at this point, even a player like Amari Cooper or Keenan Allen would at least challenge defenses facing off against Dallas.
This is a crucial juncture. The hay is in the barn with the 2025 NFL Draft class but the offseason is far from over, and the impact additions are not likely done for the Cowboys.
