Dak Prescott’s postgame moment with Micah Parsons broke Cowboys fans a little

Neither Dak nor Micah got what they wanted on Sunday night, but the world got an instant classic between the Cowboys and Packers.

In the days leading into the highly anticipated Week 4 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers, both Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons discussed how excited they were about playing one another for the first time. As one would expect, though, each stated that the only thing that mattered at the end of the night was their team walking away with a win.

But as the world witnessed on Sunday night, neither superstar got their wish, as the Cowboys and Packers engaged in an instant classic but ultimately battled to a 40-40 tie, marking the second-highest-scoring draw in professional football history behind only the 43-43 tie between the then-Boston Patriots and then-Oakland Raiders during the 1964 AFL season.

It goes without saying for anyone who tuned in, but both put on spectacular performances. Facing a Green Bay defense that came into the week having allowed the fewest points (14.7) and the third-fewest yards (232.3) per game in the league, Prescott earned a season-best 124.9 passer rating after completing 31 of 40 passes for 319 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions, also adding a score on the ground. Parsons, meanwhile, tallied eight total pressures on his former teammate and recorded a potentially game-saving sack in the overtime period.

But while the millions upon millions of those who watched the broadcast were obviously interested in the outcome of the game, there was just as much interest in what would transpire when Prescott and Parsons met up afterward. And as one would imagine, it had all the feels.

Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons shared a wholesome moment after Cowboys-Packers thriller

As you can see, the two paused for a moment before embracing, assumingly in awe of what had just gone down between these two historic franchises.

Parsons then told Prescott, "Yo, I'm talking about precision timing. Like, that s*** was quick. I always believed in you, boy. I'll see you soon." And as Dak walked away, he simply said to Parsons, "100 percent. Love you, brother."

We're not crying at all over here. You're crying.

Parsons continued to acknowledge Prescott's performance in his postgame press conference.

"I think we were getting pressure all night," Parsons said. "You go watch that all-22, and you look how precise No. 4 looked tonight. Just getting into his throws, getting to his receivers, the timing. I think he played a better game than we played defense."

He'll get no argument from us on that.

It's a shame that a classic like that had to end the way it did, but that's how it goes sometimes. But if we're lucky enough for both of these teams to make their way to the postseason, perhaps we'll get Round 2 of Dak vs. Micah sooner than expected. And as everyone knows, there are no ties in the playoffs.
