Cowboys could sneakily be the reason Eagles stay stuck with A.J. Brown drama

It feels like forever that Dallas Cowboys fans have been mocking the Philadelphia Eagles for their mismanagement of the A.J. Brown drama, probably because it is. The Eagles have been dangling Brown in trade talks for months now, yet are making it tough for themselves to find a trade partner.

That's because their asking price for the 29-year-old is exorbitant. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Eagles are looking for a "Quinnen Williams-type deal, or a first-round pick and a second-round "sweetener," as Garafolo coined it.

That Howie Roseman is using a Jerry Jones-endorsed trade as the framework of a potential Brown blockbuster is simply incredible. There's no arguing that the Cowboys overpaid for Williams, and that is what Roseman and the Eagles will force any team that wants Brown to do.

It's not often that bold Jerry moves blossom into the best possible outcome for Dallas. Acquiring Williams panned out fantastically as-is, so if that trade is the catalyst that keeps the drama continuing in Philadelphia, we will all rest a little bit easier at night.

The Dallas Cowboys are quietly playing a part in the Eagles' A.J. Brown trade saga

The wildest part of this whole thing is that if the Eagles weren't so stubborn, they probably would've traded him by now. There are multiple suitors (namely the Patriots and Broncos) that are interested in trading for the three-time Pro Bowler, but the main hurdle in negotiations has been the asking price.

Thankfully, Jones isn't acting like this with the George Pickens saga, but then again, he also isn't being as much of a diva about a new extension when he knows he deserves it.

Brown has been complaining about the Eagles' offense for months now, on top of throwing subtle jabs at Jalen Hurts, casting doubt about whether he wants to be an Eagle any longer.

The Eagles' offense has been a source of much comedy for Cowboys fans, but knowing that their front office is getting in its own way because of a trade Jones made is the cherry on top. Just because Jerry successfully overpaid out of desperation doesn't mean any other general manager will.

In an ideal world, Cowboys fans should want to see the Eagles move their superstar wideout out of the NFC East as soon as humanly possible for the sake of their division title hopes. But it also wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Philly doesn't give Brown what he wants and he continues to sabotage the team from the inside.
