Safety (5):

Jayron Kearse
Malik Hooker
Donovan Wilson
Israel Mukuamu
Markquese Bell

Last season, Jayron Kearse came out of nowhere to become the best safety on this roster. He recorded 101 tackles, 10 pass defenses, two picks, and a sack. He did enough to earn a two-year deal in the offseason.

Also landing a two-year extension was Malik Hooker. He joined Dallas late in camp last season and was recovering from a ruptured Achilles suffered in his last campaign with the Colts. It took some time for him to get his explosiveness back but it was starting to show at the end of the year.

As good as Kearse and Hooker can be together, Dallas also has Donovan Wilson who has been a playmaker when on the field. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is a fan of using three safeties, which means Wilson should see plenty of snaps.

Preseason hero Israel Mukuamu is fourth on the depth chart but he’s been praised throughout the summer for the growth he’s shown. A cornerback while at South Carolina, Mukuamau was moved to safety, and the light bulb appears to have come on for him this year. If he continues his play into the regular season, it might be hard to keep him off the field.

Lastly, Markquese Bell makes the cut. Undrafted from Florida A&M, he has the size and speed to make plays and continued to improve throughout the preseason.
