As the Dallas Cowboys get ready for a huge Monday Night Football Week 3 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, they will need all hands on deck to beat their NFC East rival. Wide receiver Amari Cooper is a premier receiving option on the Cowboys’ offense and well, having him on the field will only help the cause.

In a recent article by Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com, the latest on Cooper’s chances to play in Week 3 against the Eagles are looking good. Cooper confirmed that even though he’s still dealing with a rib injury, he’s feeling better with every passing day and will more than likely play in front of the home crowd in AT&T Stadium.

Head coach Mike McCarthy played it smart this week in practices and preparations as Cooper was limited in action as he continues to heal up. It wouldn’t have made any sense to further agitate Cooper’s injury or set him back in practice as the Cowboys continue preparing for Week 3.

Considering how good the Eagles’ defense as a whole is, it’ll be great to have Cooper in the lineup to do what he does best. So far this season in just two games, Cooper has totaled 16 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns.

Even though Cooper and the rest of the Cowboys’ medical staff believe he does indeed have a cracked rib, expect to see him being used in a situational role. One that will see him in some kind of rotation with his fellow wide receivers to ensure he’s used in clutch situations but not overdoing it that it would cause more harm than good.

Much respect to Cooper for wanting to play through this kind of injury and well, goes to show what kind of gridiron warrior he is. Hopefully, he’ll be medically cleared to play on Monday night and do his part for the Cowboys to be 2-1 for the season after they take care of business against the Eagles.
