Where the Cowboys stand in the 2025 NFL Draft order heading into Week 14

With a second straight win in Week 13, the Cowboys' position in the 2025 NFL Draft order is getting worse.

Well, so much for embracing the tank.

Not long ago, the Dallas Cowboys were 3-7 and in the midst of a five-game losing streak. As such, America's Team seemed destined for a top-10 slot in the 2025 NFL Draft order, sitting ninth following a 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football to close out Week 11.

But things have changed a bit since then.

In Week 12, the Cowboys went into Washington and upset former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and the Commanders, taking a 34-26 victory, which knocked them down two spots to No. 11 in the '25 draft order.

And now, following a 27-20 win over the lowly New York Giants on Thanksgiving Day, thus improving to 5-7 and keeping its slim postseason hopes alive, Dallas has dropped another two spots and heads into Week 14 in the No. 13 position in next April's draft.

Naturally, not all Cowboys fans are pleased with how things are playing out, as many feel Dallas would be far better suited to keep losing games down the stretch in order to get a higher selection. But that's just how things go this time of year. Just imagine how upset some might be if Cooper Rush leads the Cowboys to a win over the Cincinnati Bengals this Monday night.

But let's not jump too far ahead. For now, let's see what the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft order looks like with five weeks remaining in the regular season.

Updated 2025 NFL Draft order heading into Week 14

As mentioned, the Cowboys currently sit in the No. 13 slot in the 2025 draft, which would be their highest selection since taking Micah Parsons with the 12th overall pick in 2021.

As it stands now, the Jacksonville Jaguars, who dropped to 2-10 this past Sunday with a loss to the Houston Texans, would hold the No. 1 overall pick for the third time in five years if this order holds.

And speaking of No. 1 overall picks, the Jags not only lost a game on Sunday but also lost the top pick from the '21 draft, Trevor Lawrence, to a concussion following a brutal and unnecessary hit from Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.

The Las Vegas Raiders (2-10), New York Giants (2-10), New England Patriots (3-10), and Carolina Panthers (3-9) currently round out the top five.
