The Dallas Cowboys are, as the kids seem to say, washed and lacking in aura at the moment. Dak Prescott was keeping the ship from totally sinking, but things have taken a major turn for the worse. Due to the nature of Dallas being on the tip of everyone's tongue all the time, their demise has been televised.

Former San Francisco 49ers star and Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young, who made a career out of beating up on the Cowboys as their dynasty started to come to a close, is one of many media figures who seem to be irritated with just how much shine the Cowboys are getting this season.

“Don’t embarrass yourself, bro. The Cowboys are so freaking cooked,” Young said, via a KBNR interview. “It’s not even close to Thanksgiving, and it’s like, they’re done. They’re over. There’s nothing...If you bring them up again, then we’re fighting. That’s just not even close.”

Young said he would rather talk about the upcoming Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons game before he starts discussing Dallas, saying they are even more irrelevant than the 2-7 New York Giants at this point. Even from an old foe like Young, those words have to sting.

By all rights, Dallas should not be a compelling watch. Having Prescott is all well and good, but this is a team lacking depth at many key positions while running outdated, ineffective schemes on both offense and defense. What is the draw, outside of the star on the side of their silver helmet?

With many more games in primetime or featured TV slots, the nation is going to see a ton of a team that will have to start Cooper Rush at quarterback and lean on KaVontae Turpin deep balls as a focal part of their offense. Their running back room drama gets 10 times the attention it would in any other market.

The Cowboys can reverse all of this exhaustion and frustration by reeling off a few big wins in a row, but unless Rush plays twice as well as he has in his entire career, it seems unlikely that such a result is in the cards. In full view of the football-watching public, Mike McCarthy's squad could keep getting flattened.

However, no matter what Young does or says, the Cowboys are always going to be on the tip of everyone's tongue.
