Everyone circled the Atlanta Falcons as a get-right game for the Dallas Cowboys offense. While predictions were mixed, it was expected the offense would at least get back on track. After a promising start, the wheels have come off yet again in the second half. Sound familiar?

Dak Prescott has had some shaky moments under center, but he's been running for his life seemingly all game. Keep in mind that the Falcons have one of the NFL's worst pass rushers, but they've made getting after the quarterback look easy in this contest.

Prescott has taken a multitude of big hits throughout the game. The FOX broadcast showed Dallas' training staff evaluating Prescott's right hand in the fourth quarter. Prescott's hand looked extremely swollen and he was swiftly taken into the blue medical tent.

As it turns out, Prescott's hand is fine. He has just been ruled out for the game with a hamstring injury. Cooper Rush is in at quarterback for the Cowboys.

It's been trending this direction for a while, but the Cowboys' season has officially gone off the rails with Prescott's injury.

It's unclear what caused the injury, but replayed showed Prescott grabbing his hamstring after a throw in the pocket. Maybe the injury is connected to Prescott's effort on the ground. This had been his most prolific rushing effort of the season. He had three carries for 30 yards, including a 22-yard scamper which is good for Dallas' longest run of the season.

A lot has gone wrong for the Cowboys this year. While Mike McCarthy is a huge problem, ownership, which is louder and more stubborn than ever, set him him up to fail.

Injuries have also taken their toll. Not many teams would be able to overcome losing their top four edge rushers, an All-Pro cornerback and a variety of depth pieces.

It seemed that a Prescott injury was the only way this cursed season could get worse. Well, there we have it.

We'll know of the severity of Prescott's injury after further testing, but the Cowboys might want to think about embracing a tank if he is forced to miss any period of time. While he has not had a great season (far from it), he was the one thing keeping Dallas' ship from sinking.
