The Dallas Cowboys stampeded the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The 43-20 final score wasn't indicative of how lopsided the game was, and the win was made all the more special being that DeMarcus Ware was inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor at halftime.

Just like at the Hall of Fame induction, Jerry Jones presented Ware on Sunday. However, this presentation wasn't nearly as successful as Jones introduced the nine-time Pro Bowler as current Cowboys star DeMarcus Lawrence.

Mistake aside, it was a big day for Jones, who had the luxury of conversing with baseball great and longtime friend Alex Rodriguez.

The Fox broadcast caught Jones and Rodriguez chatting before kickoff and social media swiftly pondered what the celebrity's were talking about ... mostly because it appeared Rodriguez was having a hard time understanding Jones' words.

What were Jerry Jones and Alex Rodriguez talking about before Cowboys-Rams?

The topic of Jones and A-Rod's conversation is open for interpretation.

Perhaps the Cowboys owner picked Rodriguez's brain about the current World Series matchup between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks. Maybe the FOX MLB analyst wanted some insight on Dallas' trade deadline plans. After all, Jones has doubled (maybe even tripled) down that the Cowboys won't be involved in the sweepstakes leading up to Tuesday's 4 p.m. EST deadline.

Could it have been A-Rod who urged Jones to get CeeDee Lamb more targets? It was Jones who dismissed the notion that the formerly-frustrated Lamb needed more looks. On Sunday, Lamb erupted for 12 catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns. It's the most yards he's ever posted in a single game and it marked the sixth time in his career that he caught two TDs in a game.

Whatever the case, Jones holds Rodriguez, who happens to be his former neighbor in Dallas, in high regard. It's feasible they were just catching up.

"A-Rod is a former neighbor of mine in Dallas. We lived pretty close to each other. We got quite a bit of time that we go back, and of course, I respect him to no end. Certainly, he was one of the most distinguished players to ever play the game, he’s one of the great personalities of the game today and has been. I enjoyed visiting with him and we have, on occasion, really got to sit down and talk about the nuances of professional sports, and many aspects of it. He’d be at the top of my list of guys I respect and enjoy communicating and talking with."

All in all, it was a great afternoon for Jones. Though he briefly botched Ware's ceremony, he inducted another Cowboys great into the Ring of Honor, watched a dominant Dallas victory and got to reunite with an old friend.

Unfortunately for the masses, though, the particulars of Jones and A-Rod's pregame convo will remain a mystery.
