How to watch Cowboys games in 2024 with and without cable: Full streaming guide
By Jerry Trotta
The Dallas Cowboys once again will be one of the NFL's most polarizing teams in 2024. Mike McCarthy was lucky to keep his job after the Cowboys were humiliated in the first round of the playoffs last season. Many analysts believe McCarthy enters 2024 on the hot seat.
With superstars like Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb and polarizing quarterback in Dak Prescott, fans will tune in to Cowboys game for sheer entertainment. As arguably the most disliked team in the league, though, folks will tune in with the hope of relishing in a Dallas loss.
That's why the Cowboys dominate ratings year after year. They're a national brand with a massive following, but most non-fans love to watch them fail.
With streaming services and sports packages dominating how fans consume the NFL, it's no longer a simple task to watch Cowboys games. With that, let's dive right into how you can watch Dallas in 2024.
How to watch Cowboys games with cable
Traditional cable providers
All but one Cowboys game will be broadcast on cable. Most cable providers offer coverage of Cowboys, but the cream of the crop in that regard are Cox, Spectrum, Optimum, Verizon and Xfinity. It's important to note that the number of games your provider offers will depend on your location due to the NFL's blackout policy.
Satellite TV providers
The premier satellite providers in the Dallas area are DirectTV and Dish. Once the king of NFL coverage, DirectTV no longer offers the Sunday Ticket package. That puts DirectTV and Dish on a similar playing field as far as how to watch Cowboys games.
How to watch Cowboys games without cable
ESPN+
The Cowboys will not have a standalone game this season broadcast on ESPN+. They do have two Monday Night Football games in Week 11 vs the Houston Texans and Week 14 vs the Cincinnati Bengals. Please note that typical MNF games aired on ESPN will not be streamed on ESPN+.
NFL+
For a reasonable $7 a month, in-market fans can catch Cowboys games on NFL+. There's a significant caveat, however, as games only can be streamed on a mobile device and the game must be of the local or primetime variety. NFL+ will be of no use to Cowboys fans who are out of market.
FuboTV
Ever-growing in popularity as more individuals abandon cable and satellite TV, Fubo is available in four different packages. The most popular is the "Pro" plan, which is $80 per month and offers 195 channels. Subscribers can catch any and all Cowboys games on Fubo that are regularly-televised.
Free trial: FuboTV offers new users afree seven-day trial.
Paramount+
Paramount won't be of high-volume use to Cowboys fans since most of the team's game are broadcast on FOX. However, Dallas' Week 10 game at home against the Philadelphia Eagles will be a CBS/Paramount vehicle. Out of market fans won't be able to watch the Cowboys on Paramount.
Free trial: Paramount+ offers new users a seven-day free trial.
Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV is similar to Fubo in that it offers an identical experience as standard cable TV. Cowboys fans actually can watch every Dallas game in 2024 with a Hulu + Live TV subscription for $76.99 per month.
Free trial: Hulu + Live TV offers new users a three-day free trial.
Sling TV
Cowboys fans who are looking for a cheaper alternative to Fubo and Hulu might want to check out Sling TV. For just $40 per month, Sling TV offers cable channels that will broadcast most Cowboys games.
Free trial: Sling TV offers new users a seven-day free trial.
Amazon Prime Video
Much to the chagrin of football fans, an Amazon Prime Video subscription is needed to watch every Thursday Night Football game this season. Fortunately, the Cowboys only have one Thursday Night Football game in 2024: at the NY Giants in Week 4. A standard Amazon Prime subscription permits access to Prime Video, so fans don't have to pay for both.
Free trial: Amazon offers a generous 30-day free trial to new users.
Peacock TV
Every Sunday Night Football game this season is available on Peacock TV. The Cowboys thankfully don't have a game in 2024 exclusively on Peacock. However, all three of their Sunday Night Football fixtures can be watched on Peacock: Week 5 at the Pittsburgh Steelers, Week 8 at the San Francisco 49ers and Week 16 vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Free trial: Peacock currently does not offer a free trial to new subscribers.
NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV
YouTube TV was all the rage last season for football fans after it absorbed the NFL Sunday Ticket from DirectTV. The NFL Sunday Ticket is not required to watch every Cowboys game, but it does offer fans the opportunity to keep track of every game each Sunday.
In order to watch every out-of-market NFL game, Sunday Ticket alone costs $449 per year. Those who have a YouTube TV subscription can get the Ticket for $349 annually. A YouTube TV subscription by itself costs $72.99/month.
Free trial: Neither YouTube TV nor the Sunday Ticket offer a free trial.
