Cowboys schedule release date rumors, leaks, opponents and more
By Jerry Trotta
The Dallas Cowboys face a potential crossroads season in 2024. If they don't reach the NFC Championship Game, we could be talking about Mike McCarthy losing his job and several long-tenured veterans moving on, including Zack Martin, DeMarcus Lawrence and maybe even Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys have been passive this offseason as far as upgrading their roster, but the draft indicated they want to get tougher and more physical. With newcomers Tyler Guyton, Marshawn Kneeland, Cooper Beebe and Maris Liufau, Dallas may have an overdue new identity in 2024. That should pay huge dividends come December and January.
No team makes the playoffs in May -- obviously -- but the Cowboys' schedule will be a big factor in mapping out their chances of winning the NFC East and nabbing the highest-possible seed in the conference.
The Cowboys' opponents for 2024 are already known, but they'll soon find out which games are in primetime and when they'll face the toughest teams. Until the release, here is everything Dallas fans should know about this year's schedule release.
When is the Cowboys schedule going to be released?
The NFL's full schedule will be released next Wednesday, May 15.

The Cowboys play a first-place schedule this season, but their home-and-away matchups are extremely favorable. We know Dallas has struggled on the road under Mike McCarthy, so facing middling teams like the Falcons, Panthers and Steelers should work in their favor. Conversely, getting to play heavyweights like the Bengals, Ravens, Texans and Lions at home plays right into their strength.
