It’s finally here as we make our way closer to the start of another season. The 2023 NFL schedule has been released. The time has come to assess and evaluate the Dallas Cowboys and how they will fare for the season based on matchups.

Perhaps no team comes under the spotlight more than America’s Team, which suffered another premature playoff exit last season.

As expected, the Cowboys are featured in six primetime games, tied for the most of any team in the NFL. That doesn't factor in other appealing matchups, so let's attempt to narrow down five of Dallas' most engrossing matchups this upcoming season.

5 most intriguing matchups on Cowboys 2023 schedule

Week 1: Cowboys at Giants (NBC) SNF

Let’s kick things off with the first Sunday Night Football game of the season. The Cowboys will head to the Meadowlands to face off against their NFC East rivals, the New York Giants. A great way to kick off the season.

This matchup has the makings to be the highest-viewed game of Week 1 and one of the highest-viewed games of the season, as the Cowboys were featured in four of the five most-viewed matchups from the 2022 season, including the most-viewed game of last season against the Giants on Thanksgiving.

So think about America’s team against the more improved Giants in the Big Apple. Of course, the Cowboys would love nothing more than to start the season with a division win on the road. Brian Daboll will have his squad ready for a battle, so Dak Prescott and company better be ready for a dogfight in primetime.
