The hot takes are flying after the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. While they only lost by a field goal, the 28-25 final score was not indicative of a back-and-forth game. The Cowboys were flat-out dominated before they stormed back in the fourth quarter.

With Dallas being haunted by the same things that have reared their ugly head in the playoffs for years, Cowboys fans are resided to the fact that the team is headed for a similar fate. That's even if they make the playoffs, but let's avoid peeking into the bigger picture.

Another playoff letdown or missing the playoffs entirely will likely end Mike McCarthy's tenure as head coach. The front office did not do McCarthy any favors this offseason, but regardless the pressure is on McCarthy to take this team on a deep playoff run.

It won't be long for the Bill Belichick whispers to make their return. Well, they may have already started after Belichick's appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday.

Bill Belichick openly flirts with Cowboys after loss vs. Ravens

'Well this is the same thing they ran into last year, right?," said Belichick. The games that they fell behind in early and teams that ran the ball against them - like Buffalo ran for 250 yards against them ... These last two at home are definitely a problem ... Look the draft's over, free agency is over. I wouldn't expect a lot of big trades here. I think there's enough talent in Dallas to get things straightened out."

The formula is out on how to beat the Cowboys. It has been for years. Get ahead early and run the football to control time of possession and limit Micah Parsons and the pass rush.

Belichick didn't reveal any new information, but he is one of a few media members who still believe Dallas has enough talent to right the ship. That part is notable. The six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach is clearly fond of the roster, which seemingly means he thinks he can win with it.

Mike McCarthy has instilled a winning culture in Dallas, but Sunday was anything was ugly on and off the field. CeeDee Lamb blew up on Dak Prescott on the sideline. Lamb also left without talking to the media and showed terrible body language all game. In another ugly look, Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence also got into a shouting match.

That's not to say these things wouldn't happen under Belichick, but it is fair to assume that Belichick would have his players more buttoned up.

There are some potential drawbacks to hiring Belichick, but at the rate the season is going the whispers could be deafening by December.
