Cowboys trade possibility No. 2: Drop down to Round 2

Dallas has never been afraid of moving back in the NFL Draft and acquiring more draft picks. They did this in 2021 when they moved from No. 10 to No. 12 and added a Round 3 pick from the Philadelphia Eagles in the process.

In that instance, the Cowboys still landed the player they had their eyes on at No. 10 overall, Micah Parsons.

The Penn State product has been a star for them and the way this one worked out should ensure they won't hesitate to move back again if they feel they can still get their guy.

In a proposed trade with the Tennessee Titans, that's what this front office tries to do. This trade sees the Cowboys drop back 15 picks, leaving the first round altogether. For dropping back, they're rewarded with the 72nd overall pick.

This trade option keeps them close to the first round still while allowing them to still hopefully land their preferred player. One name that's surfaced as of late is Steve Avila from TCU. He would likely still be there at pick 41, and this trade means they get their new left guard while also adding another top-75 prospect.
