Cowboys trade possibility No. 1: Trade to pick 17 for Bijan Robinson

For the past four seasons, Dallas has had one of the top running back corps in the NFL. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard worked very well together but in 2023, that partnership is no more.

Elliott was released in a cap-savings move — although he had taken a major step in the wrong direction as well so it wasn't all about the money — while Pollard remains on the franchise tag. The former fourth-round pick is fresh off his first-ever 1,000-yard season but also suffered a broken leg in the playoffs.

Pollard should be more than capable of carrying the load but Dallas has made it no secret that they would jump at the chance to add another back, but only if it's the right one.

One name that continues to pop up is Bijan Robinson. from Texas. Hands down the best back in this class, the Cowboys are reportedly enamored with him but if they want to land him, they'll likely have to trade up.

That's exactly what they do here, giving up their top two picks (No. 26 and No. 58) in exchange for the Pittsburgh Steelers' first and third-round picks (No. 17 and No. 80).

Robinson is the type of back that can completely take over a game. He's a stud as a runner and receiver, who should have no problem succeeding in the NFL.

With Dallas, he would work in tandem with Pollard, much in the way Elliott did, but would have much fresher legs.

It's a pricey move, but it could be well worth it.
