Cowboys Dud: Michael Gallup, Wide Receiver

On the second drive of the game, the Cowboys had just moved the ball 34 yards on two passes to CeeDee Lamb. Then on the next play, they had an incompletion with Dak Prescott trying to do something he has attempted far too often in 2023 — he forced it to Michael Gallup.

Despite tight coverage, Prescott tried to throw a bullet to Gallup, hoping he could beat Michael Davis. While Davis got away with a hold, the play wasn't close and it felt like another attempt to get their highest-paid receiver going.

The issues between Prescott and Gallup continued later on the drive when Gallup beat his man for a potential touchdown but the pass was too high.

It didn't improve on the following drive either with Gallup dropping a pass intended for him on third-and-six, which led to the second punt of the night for Dallas.

In the second quarter, Gallup again had a drop on a touchdown pass as Prescott hit him in the hands and it bounced to the wideout's chest and then flew out for another incompletion.

This was a tough play but Prescott made a beautiful throw only to see it fall to the turf as Gallup again looked for a flag to try and bail him out.

Gallup finished the night with three receptions on 10 targets for 24 yards. That's an absurd stat line and Prescott needs to be put on blast for it as well, especially when seeing he was 11-for-11 when targeting CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks.
