Brandin Cooks, WR

As shocking as it is to believe, Brandin Cooks has yet to win a single Pro Bowl invite in his stellar nine-year career. Despite posting thousand-yard seasons six times, Cooks has found a way to miss the cut each time.

That ends in 2023.

The Cowboys acquired the former first round burner in a March trade with the Texans. Cooks immediately slotted in at WR2 in Dallas, a fact confirmed and after a standout training camp this summer. Cooks brings rare speed to the position and is capable of playing outside as well as inside.

His presence on offense stretches defenses and opens opportunities for players like CeeDee Lamb underneath and up the middle. While WR3 Michael Gallup is expected to bounce back another year removed from his ACL injury, he appears to pose little threat to Cooks’ status.

With Lamb commanding the bulk of the defense’s attention, Cooks will have opportunities to shine on the Dallas offense. Playing under the bright lights of America’s Team, Cooks will finally get the recognition he deserves as a WR and is in perfect position to secure his first Pro Bowl bid.

At age 29, Cooks still has the speed and athleticism to make plays in the NFL. Prescott and Cooks developed instant chemistry over the summer and shouldn’t have much, if any, learning curve to overcome.
