Micah Parsons just dropped a bombshell on the Dallas Cowboys with this trade request, but this request gets even more awkward. Parsons is arguably a top-10 player in the NFL. He's got 52.5 sacks in his first four years in the NFL and is a two-time All-Pro.

Simply put, he's an elite player at a key position and is someone the Cowboys should have taken care of a long time ago, but I guess Dallas doesn't want to do anything right. With Parsons being so public about this trade request, you would think that he'd then leave training camp and do his own thing, right?

Well, no so fast...

Cowboys star Micah Parsons does not plan on leaving training camp despite trade request

The latest update on this saga from Cowboys reporter Ed Werder indicates that Micah Parsons actually plans on staying with the team during training camp, perhaps making the thing even more awkward:

This is an interesting situation, and perhaps he's taking something from Trey Hendrickson's playbook? Hendrickson actually ended up reporting to Bengals training camp and doing what some have called a 'hold in.'

Only time will tell if Micah Parsons gets moved, but with how much attention has followed this player and franchise, you have to wonder if a divorce would be mutually beneficial? The package Dallas could potentially get back for Micah Parsons could consist of multiple first-round picks and a player.

But if he's not planning on leaving training camp, this could be an indirect plea that he would still like to get a deal done with the team. Jerry Jones and the rest of the Cowboys' front office may have to put their pride aside for a second and give-in.

Micah Parsons is truly one of the only redeeming qualities of the Dallas Cowboys' defense, so an extension is the solution that they should arrive at.
