The Dallas Cowboys are seemingly zeroing in on a wide receiver with the No. 12 pick. Most fans prefer Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan to Texas' Matthew Golden, but WR2 is such a big need that it'd be hard to throw a fuss if Golden is the pick.
Perhaps the second-biggest question mark for Dallas is when they take a running back. Depending on how the board falls, they could potentially net a tier two RB with the No. 44 pick. Ohio State stars TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins fit that bill.
This class is so deep, though, that the team can wait until round three for a running back. It wouldn't be crazy to double dip at RB on day three if they don't get a three-down player. Whenever it happens, though, it feels written in stone that Dallas will take a running back this year.
Bleacher Report's Alex Kay doesn't see it that way. In a recent article, Kay brainstormed a trade package that would send Jets star Breece Hall to the Cowboys.
Grade the trade proposal: Cowboys acquire Jets star RB Breece Hall
Kay thinks it would require two (!) draft picks to pry Hall from New York. While Hall is a dynamic talent who is just one season removed from producing nearly 1,600 scrimmage yards and nine total touchdowns, his efficiency fell off a cliff last season.
Hall rushed for 876 yards on 4.2 yards per carry in 16 games. His YPC has declined in every season since he was drafted in 2022. He also posted a 46.4% rushing success rate. The league average is 49.6%.

The former second-round pick graded out poorly by Pro Football Focus as well. His 68.7 rushing grade ranked 21st out of 23 RBs that carried at least 200 times. He placed 20th in missed tackles forced and 18th in yards after contact and 12th in yards after contact per carry.
You would expect a RB with Hall's talent and reputation to crack the top 10 in at least one category. He was extremely efficient in 2023 coming off a torn ACL the previous year and will only turn 24 in May. He is still years away from hitting the proverbial running back wall.
It's important to note that Hall is in the final year of his rookie deal. So the Cowboys would be trading a third and a fifth for a one-year rental, assuming they don't re-sign him. One Day 3 pick would be a different story, but Hall's stock is the lowest it's been in his NFL career.
This would be an awful trade, even for Jerry Jones' standards.
