The Dallas Cowboys' season may be on the brink of extinction, but that's no reason to pass up on an opportunity to laugh at the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, the Eagles' recent struggles are exactly what have kept the Cowboys' season alive this long.

Philadelphia, despite posting an 8-5 record heading into Week 15, seems to be in the middle of a collapse. While the defense has continued to play at a high level, the offense has failed to find its footing. There are plenty of places to put the blame, including quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Eagles fans are known for defending their quarterback, but even they are starting to admit some of his faults. One Eagles writer finally put the onus on the superstar QB.

Eagles writer says what Cowboys already knew about Jalen Hurts

In a recent article, Anthony Miller of Inside the Iggles laid out just how bad Hurts was in Philly's Monday Night Football loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He put it simply, saying, "Jalen Hurts is a problem for this team."

As Cowboys fans have known for quite some time, he's not wrong. The Eagles have one of the most talented rosters in the league, thanks to general manager Howie Roseman's ability to find seemingly infinite cap space.

With multiple superstars on both sides of the ball, Philadelphia should be able to dominate week in and week out. But, while they've generally been successful in recent years, they've been one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL. The heart of the problem lies with the quarterback.

Hurts has had a few notable performances, but he holds his team back more often than Eagles fans would like to admit. The Cowboys have consistently benefited from his inconsistent play, winning six of their 11 matchups with the Eagles since Hurts became a starter.

As Miller pointed out, the Eagles' loss to the Chargers in Week 14 was a prime example of just how bad it can get for Philadelphia when Hurts is at his worst. The quarterback turned the ball over five times in the game, even throwing an interception and fumbling on the same play. He was unable to find any sort of consistency, despite having healthy weapons to throw to.

The Cowboys' season may be hanging by a thread, but fans in Dallas can thank Hurts for keeping their chances alive for this long.
