The Dallas Cowboys are taking advantage of some turmoil in the NFC East, and they've used that to build a roster that is more than capable of taking home a division title in 2026.
As is always the case in Dallas, this roster is a star-driven bunch that will be counting on the exploits of a few highly-paid players to make up for some shortcomings elsewhere.
These Cowboys should expect to take home some unofficial hardware, as every player in this sextet is set up for a dynamite season if all goes as planned.
Dallas Cowboys 2026 award winner prediections after busy offseason
MVP: QB Dak Prescott
An uncontroversial choice, perhaps, but Prescott is retaining just about every key offensive piece from a 2025 offense that was firing on all cylinders. As long as the offensive line remains relatively healthy, Prescott's excellence should be more than enough to carry this team.
Offensive Player of the Year: WR CeeDee Lamb
There's a non-zero chance that Lamb unseats Jaxon Smith-Njigba and ends up near the top of the league in receiving yards. With the quarterback needed to give him the volume of targets necessary for such an honor, Lamb's best football is still very much in the windshield.
Defensive Player of the Year: DT Quinnen Williams
Williams' counting stats never match up to the other elite DTs in the league, but he is as good as it gets when combining elite run-stuffing and pressure up the gut. Leaving a thin Jets defense could reduce his double-team rate and improve his production.
Rookie of the Year: S Caleb Downs
A safe selection, but after the Cowboys landed the player many believed was the top overall player in the Draft at No. 11 overall, the former Ohio State dynamo is coming into the league with a great deal of hype. Downs is already positioned to win the starting nickel job.
Comeback Player of the Year: De'Marvion Overshown
Overshown has consistently struggled with health over his pro career, and the fact that he has been such a great player when he is out there makes it even more frustrating. A full 17 games of Overshown would give Dallas its best linebacker in years.
Newcomer of the Year: Jalen Thompson
The Cowboys invested heavily in Thompson by way of a three-year contract, and they did so with the thought that the former Arizona Cardinals star's dynamic playmaking in the secondary would be enough to ensure some noteworthy improvements.
