The Dallas Cowboys were the perfect carnival team in 2025. While that didn't exactly translate to real-life success, fantasy football managers were certainly happy with the results.
Dallas' defense was left in shambles after trading superstar pass-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers just days before Week 1. There's no replacing a one-man wrecking crew like him, especially on the shortest of notice. His departure, combined with a loaded cast of playmakers, created the ideal environment for constant pinball affairs.
It was a true "everybody eats" offense, as the numbers bear out. The Cowboys had at least one player at every skill position finish top-12 in point-per-reception (PPR) scoring average. Star wide receiver George Pickens and workhorse running back Javonte Williams were goldmines given their respective draft prices and outstanding production.
This offseason has been much quieter, at least by Dallas' typically loud standards. How things shake out between Pickens and his fellow dynamic running mate, CeeDee Lamb, is arguably one of the most burning questions. The latter's health (or lack thereof) was another factor in the former's breakout campaign.
Can Pickens and Lamb coexist as WR1s when they're both at full strength? A small sample size tells us yes, yet as previously highlighted, the stars couldn't have aligned much better for them to stuff the stat sheet.
Training camp and the preseason will give us a much better idea of what to expect from the Cowboys' high-scoring attack in 2026. Stay tuned and consider this a resource center for any meaningful developments.
Note: This story will be updated regularly throughout the Dallas Cowboys' training camp and preseason.
Latest Fantasy Football updates for the Cowboys: News, injuries and position battles
Jaydon Blue continues to look like he'll be asset in this offense -- 8/4
Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram revealed that Blue had a huge gain on a screen pass, where he used vision, patience, and awareness, allowing his blocks to develop. At first, he ran left before breaking inside, creating a one-on-one opportunity against a defender. If he made the defender miss, it could have been an 80-yard score, displaying what Blue can bring to this offense. His speed and receiving ability should get him onto the field.
Ryan Flournoy's arrow points to aim up -- 8/3
Fansided's Marcus Mosher revealed that Flournoy is quickly climbing the depth chart and putting a gap between him and any other receiver not named George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb. "He's made impact plays every day and has impressed with his consistency more than anything else. Coaches and reporters noted that he is beginning to separate himself from the rest of the depth receivers, routinely making catches that stand out while avoiding the inconsistency that often hurts young wideouts," Mosher said.
Jaydon Blue is keeping his foot on the gas -- 8/2
Blue's speed continues to show up in practice, which is a nice change of pace to Javonte Williams' style. Jon Machota of The Athletic wrote, "Blue would be the ideal complement with his ability as a pass catcher and in space on the second level."
Ryan Flournoy turns in another strong practice -- 7/31
Flournoy's "steady play" is quietly keeping him atop the passing options just beneath CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, per Tommy Yarrish. This means everything for dynasty owners, as Pickens very well could be playing for another team next year.
Jaydon Blue is becoming hard to ignore -- 7/31
"He ripped off multiple quality runs, including one where he sold the run to the outside before planting his foot and attacking a cutback lane for a solid gain," said Yarrish. "On another carry, he bounced outside after slipping through initial contact to create additional yardage."
George Pickens isn't letting contract situation interfere with effort -- 7/30
Pickens "looks to be picking up right where he left off last season" (h/t Clarence Hill Jr. of DLLS Sports). He seems to have found a home in Dallas despite having no lucrative long-term contract to show for it.
It's awesome to see Pickens show up ready for work in light of the well-chronicled standoff between him and the Cowboys this offseason. Barring any unforeseen changes, he's a locked-in WR1 in all formats.
Phil Mafah rebounds with highlight -- 7/30
After a rough outing, Mafah bounced back by going untouched on a long run down the sideline (h/t the Dallas Morning News' Joseph Hoyt).
That's the exact type of response you want to see from a young back. Mafah didn't let one bad performance derail him, which the coaching staff presumably noticed amid his duel with fellow Cowboys backup RBs Blue and Davis.
Javonte Williams' receiving ability on display -- 7/30
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed a desire to get Williams "involved in the screen game" and did just that (h/t the Dallas Morning News' Joseph Hoyt). The bell-cow turned a short catch into a long gain.
As if Williams hasn't already monopolized the backfield. He may very well leave Mafah, Blue and Malik Davis fending for scraps at this rate, making another borderline RB1 finish plausible, if not likely.
Jaydon Blue makes noise, Phil Mafah botches -- 7/29
Blue broke a long touchdown run following a Mafah fumble. It was a double whammy of unfortunate events for the latter's RB2 case.
Phil Mafah logs first-string reps? -- 7/29
Mafah got work with the first-team offense, lining up next to/behind franchise quarterback Dak Prescott.
Dallas appears to at least be Mafah curious. Time will tell whether that's an endorsement of him or an indictment of fellow second-year back Jaydon Blue, or both.
Sleepers, dynasty names and under-the-radar Cowboys players to know
Ryan Flournoy's the one worth keeping tabs on. He showed exciting upside last season in a small sample size, is gaining confidence and should see an expanded role in his third year.
