If Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers fans were ever to agree on something, it's that there should be no such thing as ties in professional football. While it's fitting that Sunday's rollercoaster of a game finished in a 40-40 deadlock, one team deserved to be on the winning side.

It goes without saying that Dak Prescott deserved a win. He's the only reason the Cowboys aren't staring down the barrel of a 1-3 record going into October.

Following one of the finest performances of his career, Prescott didn't really know what to make of the result. While a tie is obviously better than losing, Dallas was in the driver's seat, and it was ultimately the Packers who snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat in the final seconds of overtime.

Dak Prescott had a relatable reaction after Cowboys' overtime tie vs. Packers

"I’m unfulfilled," Prescott said. "I don’t play the game for ties. And I’ve told you before, I don’t do it for stats. It’s tough to wrap my head around the tie."

That pretty much sums it up.

Again, the Cowboys were in the driver's seat. For whatever reason, the Packers deferred after winning the coin toss to start overtime, allowing Dallas to take the ball first. Prescott marched the offense down the field, but the drive stalled out at the doorstep, and they had to settle for a short field goal.

There's a discussion to be had if Brian Schottenheimer should've gone for it, but there's ultimately nothing wrong with taking a lead in a sudden-death situation. All the Cowboys needed was one stop, and while they let Green Bay cross midfield without much resistance, they stood tall in the red zone and forced a field goal after some atrocious clock management from Matt LaFleur.

Like Prescott said, it's hard to make heads or tails of the result. On one side, the Cowboys were touchdown underdogs. Nobody gave them a chance to keep it close, and they were this close to pulling off the upset. On the other side, Prescott gave Dallas the lead four (!) different times since the 0:34 mark in the third quarter, including with 43 seconds left in regulation.

The Cowboys had this one. The defense blew it time and time again, but most fans would've taken a tie before kickoff. It's also fair to reset expectations according to game flow, which makes it virtually impossible to wrap your head around it all.

At the end of the day, 1-2-1 is a lot better than 1-3, but 2-2 was right there.
