As the Dallas Cowboys get ready to take on the Denver Broncos in Week 8, there's one pivotal weakness on the Denver defense the Cowboys simply must take advantage of...but it might not be what you would expect: Denver's stellar cornerback duo.
Everybody knows the Dallas Cowboys have a stellar wide receiver duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, but the Broncos also boast one of the league's best cornerback duos in Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss. Together, Surtain and Moss have allowed well under 50 percent of targets into their coverage to be completed.
But Moss leads the NFL in one particular category that should have George Pickens, in particular, salivating.
Cowboys must attack Broncos defensive backs deep in Week 8 matchup
So far this season, only one player has racked up more penalty yards than Broncos cornerback Riley Moss. In seven games, Moss has been called for defensive pass interference on five occasions, including a huge play against the Giants that nearly cost the Broncos the game.
Although you can argue the validity of some pass interference calls, the fact of the matter is, they get called plenty in the NFL, whether or not fans like it.
While Moss has the second-most penalty yards against him this season, Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens has drawn the most yards of any NFL receiver so far in 2025 on pass interference penalties, per FanSide's Marcus Mosher.
Let's make up a new stat on this Monday.

On top of Pickens clearly taking advantage of defensive backs, both with actual yardage and penalty yardage, Cowboys fans are looking at a matchup from the 2024 season to prove that Pickens might be one of the few receivers who has actually gotten the better of Broncos Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II...
This gives the Cowboys an advantage over the Broncos that most other teams simply don't have. They can actually attack Pat Surtain's side of the field and feel good about their guys making plays. Now, the caveat is, the closer you play around the edge of a cliff, the more likely you are to fall.
This is a classic case of "best on best" in a matchup of players playing at the highest level. While these Denver corners have obviously been highly successful in man coverage, they've also been prone to allowing some big plays, whether the receiver is catching the ball or drawing a flag.
Dak Prescott has to make sure he at least gives his guys a chance, but do it without being reckless with the ball. It might just be the hidden advantage to give the Cowboys a major edge in Week 8.
