Right now, the Dallas Cowboys have a Super Bowl-caliber offense. Quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown 13 touchdowns across his past four games with zero interceptions. He's been, in the eyes of some, the best and most efficient QB in the NFL this year.

And with the Cowboys averaging over 30 points per game, they are surely a five or six-win team, right? Well, not exactly. The defense is among the worst in the NFL, and while Dallas had a good day on that side of the ball on Sunday in Week 7, the unit is still missing notable talent, and it's just not a viable defense in today's NFL.

Even if Dallas could get this defense playing at an average level this year, they could make a deep playoff run with how dominant the offense has been. Well, on Tuesday, major news broke that could help save Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys from the misery trading Micah Parsons.

The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly made inquiries with the Raiders for a Maxx Crosby trade

From Trey Wingo, the Dallas Cowboys have apparently made some inquiries with the Las Vegas Raiders about a potential trade for Maxx Crosby:

Maxx Crosby just turned 28 years old back in August and is a four-time Pro Bowler with the Las Vegas Raiders. He was a fourth-round pick back in the 2019 NFL Draft and has been one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL since arriving in the league.

Crosby has missed just five games across his seven years in the NFL, and in 102 career games in the regular season, Crosby has 63.5 sacks, 394 total tackles, 115 tackles for loss, and 153 QB hits. He's had career-highs of 14.2 sacks, 23 tackles for loss, and 36 QB hits.

He also happens to be on one of the worst teams in the NFL, and it's been that way for years now. The Raiders are 2-5 on the season and sport one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Starting QB Geno Smith has thrown more interceptions than touchdown passes this year, and the entire operation on both sides of the ball is simply forgettable.

The Raiders should be in a position to tell at the NFL trade deadline, and the Cowboys could be a logical buyer to boost the defense. With the extra capital they received in the Micah Parsons trade, a trade for Maxx Crosby would make sense, but also would not cost nearly as much as Dallas got for Parsons, so the Cowboys would really be depleting their draft capital with this move.
