The Dallas Cowboys had a heavy presence at College Station on Thursday as the Pro Day for Texas A&M took place for all 32 NFL teams. One of the most notable players at the event was Shemar Stewart, who is one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Stewart did not participate in any of the on-field testing, which isn't a surprise given the performance he put on at the NFL Combine. However, plenty of teams, including the Cowboys, made the trip to speak with him.
The Cowboys are one of the handful of teams that will use one of their 30 visits on Stewart. That news was first reported by Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star Telegram on Thursday afternoon. That is notable as the Cowboys have now met with him at the Senior Bowl as well as at the combine.
Texas A&M DL Shemar Stewart will take a 30-visit with the Dallas Cowboys next week. It’s one of many for him.

Cowboys will host Texas A&M edge-rusher Shemar Stewart for a Top 30 visit
Stewart mentioned that he's never been to Dallas, but he did say that he was excited for the visit and the possibility of teaming up with Micah Parsons. He is currently No. 19 on the expert consensus board, but has frequently been mocked to the Cowboys at pick No. 12 throughout the process.
The biggest concern for Stewart is the lack of college production, as he totaled just 4.5 career sacks in 37 games at Texas A&M. He doesn’t have much in the way of tackle for loss production either, with just 12 combined TFLs in his collegiate career. That would be among the worst production ever for a first-round pick, let alone a top-15 selection in the NFL Draft.

But the appeal for Stewart is all-time great athleticism and upside. He ran an incredible 4.59 40-yard dash at 267 pounds at the NFL Combine, along with a 40" vertical and 10'11" broad jump. He is a special athlete, and the hope is that his best football is still ahead of him with NFL coaching.
Are the Cowboys the right landing spot for Stewart? Well, that depends on what you think of Matt Eberflus and the rest of the defensive coaching staff. Dallas needs to add another rusher opposite Parsons and it likely needs to be someone with size who can help stop the run. In theory, that should be Stewart, who was a plus run defender in college.
Will the Cowboys end up selecting Shemar Stewart at No. 12? We will find out in a month, but it sure seems like they have a lot of interest. Expect him to be on the short list of names they consider in Round 1.
