With the retirement of Zack Martin, one of the best offensive linemen in Dallas Cowboys history, it was clear a change was needed on the offensive side of the ball. With the running back position at a huge question mark even to start last season, and with little depth beside CeeDee Lamb at receiver, it was apparent that a strong offensive presence needed to be emphasized in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite Tyler Booker being a questionable first-round pick for the Cowboys, there is plenty of upside. The offensive line is redefining itself with Cooper Beebe and Tyler Smith, and Booker's size at 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, his body is NFL-ready.

Booker recently got praise from his new teammate, DeMarvion Overshown. Overshown is already giving the rookie plenty of flowers for his energy that he brought during the draft.

DeMarvion Overshown says Tyler Booker has the "energy" the Cowboys massively need

After inital reports of Overshown being forced to miss the entire 2025 season, he provided a massive update on his recovery process, saying that he could return by the middle of the 2025 season.

Overshown had thoughts on his new teammate, saying Booker has the energy that the Cowboys need right now. The former Longhorn linebacker reacted to Booker dancing on stage when his name was called as the newest Dallas Cowboy.

"That's the energy we need in the building to get to where we want to go," Overshown said. "We want somebody to love the game of football, take the will out of the opponent."

Overshown had talked about how he knew of Booker in the past, with Booker praising some of Overshown's highlights from the past. This was a friendship that was long in the making, and it was good to see Overshown praise his first-round rookie.

With the Cowboys' 2025 season still at a major question mark, Booker is an accomplished athlete with a phenomenal NFL body. Booker was a First-team All-American last season at Alabama, one of the blue bloods of producing NFL talent from everywhere on the field. His energy will be a massive boost to the team in 2025.

Booker is already excited to take the field, and went as far to call out Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter as someone he wants to test moving forward.
