The Dallas Cowboys seemingly haven't made any progress in contract negotiations with Micah Parsons. While Parsons has kept his head down throughout the process, he has been candid when asked about why he remains unsigned before training camp.
Parsons' price increased on Thursday when Steelers pass rusher T.J. Watt inked a record-setting extension worth $41 million per year. It remains to be seen when Jerry Jones will put an end to the nonsense, but in the meantime Dallas has resolved one long-standing contract issue.
The Cowboys and second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku have agreed to a four-year, $10.1 million deal, with around 84 percent guaranteed, per Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News.
Dallas' entire rookie class is now under contract.
Cowboys sign rookie DE Donovan Ezeiruaku right before training camp
Ezeiruaku likely would have signed much earlier, but the Texans threw a wrench into everything when they gave No. 34 overall pick Jayden Higgins a fully-guaranteed contract. The Browns quickly followed suit with No. 34 overall pick Carson Schwesinger.
It caused a league-wide standoff and left 30 of 32 second-round picks without a contract ahead of training camp. Fortunately for Dallas, the 49ers got the ball rolling again when they signed No. 43 pick Alfred Collins to a $10.3 million deal that included $9 million guaranteed. It would be stunning now if all 32 second-rounders aren't signed before camp next week.

According to Hoyt, the first three years of Ezeiruaku's deal are fully guaranteed. The final year is partially guaranteed at 38 percent. That is significant because last year's No. 44 overall pick, Jackson Powers-Johnson of the Raiders, did not get any guaranteed money on his fourth year.
It is massive that the Cowboys were able to find a middle ground with Ezeiruaku. One of the biggest steals of the draft, Ezeiruaku will be an integral part of Matt Eberflus' pass rush.
While undersized, Ezeiruaku dominated college football last season to the tune of 16.5 sacks, which ranked second in the country, 20.5 tackles for loss and a 25.8 percent pass-rush win rate on true pass sets, per PFF.
While Cowboys fans wait in earnest for Parsons to sign on the dotted line, this is a victory worth celebrating. Ezeiruaku has the potential to make a big impact this season. The last thing he needed was a delayed start to training camp.
