Many Dallas Cowboys fans weren't happy with how the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft played out, as standout wide receiver and perhaps the top target for America's Team, Tetairoa McMillan, was surprisingly stolen by the Carolina Panthers at No. 8 overall.

Some thought the Cowboys would just pivot and take another top wideout when they went on the clock at No. 12, with Matthew Golden being a popular choice. Instead, however, Jerry Jones went the offensive lineman route for the third time in four years, selecting Alabama guard Tyler Booker.

While not the sexiest pick, Booker was the best player at his position heading into this draft, and more and more people seem to be coming around to the selection.

When Round 2 got underway, Cowboys fans watched more skill position players go off the board, many of whom would've looked good with a star on their helmet, a list that includes Ohio State running backs Quinshon Judkins (No. 36, Browns) and TreVeyon Henderson (No. 38, Patriots), Iowa State wideout Jayden Higgins (No. 34, Texans), and Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden (No. 39, Bears).

Yet again, however, the Cowboys got themselves a very good football player, as they were able to land Boston College defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku at No. 44 overall. And it didn't take long for the 21-year-old to endear himself to his new fan base.

New Cowboys defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku is no longer an Eagles fan

Each and every year at the NFL draft, we hear several stories about players getting picked by a team they absolutely despised growing up. And Ezeiruaku can now include himself in that group.

Born in Philadelphia before moving to Williamstown, New Jersey, Ezeiruaku grew up rooting for the Eagles, who've obviously been one of the Cowboys' biggest rivals since they entered the NFL in 1960.

For those counting at home, Dallas holds a 74-58 lead in the all-time series, by the way.

During an interview not long after he was drafted, Ezeiruaku spoke about his Philly fandom and when asked what it was like to watch his team win the Super Bowl a few months back, this was his response:

"That was pretty cool. My last (game) as an Eagles fan."

Pretty clever, wouldn't you say? The Ted Hendricks Award winner knows exactly how heated this rivalry is, and he clearly already knows how to get on the good side of Cowboys fans everywhere.
