The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, but the football on display is not the topic of discussion.

Between CeeDee Lamb's comments on the AT&T Stadium sun controversy and Micah Parsons receiving ridiculous criticism over his quote on Mike McCarthy's future, football is the last thing being discussed on both a local and national scale.

It's admittedly hard to take positives from a 28-point loss at home to a division rival. While Parsons played out of his mind in his first game back from injury and Rico Dowdle ran well yet again, the performance of DeMarvion Overshown was the biggest bright spot and the latest indicator that Dallas has a future star on its hands.

Amid a jaw-dropping outing, Overshown gave fans a scare when he went down with a non-contact knee injury. It looked worrisome in real time, but it seems that Overshown has avoided a major injury.

DeMarvion Overshown injury update is a huge relief for the Cowboys

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, X-Rays on Overshown's knee were negative and he's dealing with "bursitis" in his knee. It's unclear if Overshown will miss time but Rapoport noted that the injury is not significant, which is a massive relief.

In a season that has delivered myriad devastating injury blows, Overshown appears to have dodged disaster.

Overshown was tended to on the field for several minutes before walking off under his own power. The Cowboys' defense took a knee around the second-year linebacker. That is usually a strong indicator of a serious injury, but Overshown was able to jog to the locker room and eventually returned to the game in the fourth quarter.

Overshown is even confident he'll be able to play in Week 11. That adrenaline was definitely still flowing when he said that, but that he was able to return to the game bodes extremely well.

The No. 90 overall pick last year, Overshown missed his entire rookie year with a torn ACL, but he's developing into a star and cornerstone player on Dallas' defense. He led the team with 11 tackles (eight solo) against the Eagles and sacked Jalen Hurts twice.

For the season, Overshown is second on the Cowboys with 67 tackles and first with four sacks and seven tackles for loss. His closing speed is already elite but he's trusting his eyes more with every week that passes and flying through gaps against the run.

Simply put, Overshown is a player you can build around. Hopefully, he doesn't miss any time so he can continue coming into his own.
