With Jaire Alexander up for grabs, the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles are both very much in contention to complete their Super Bowl puzzles.
Of course, the Eagles potentially getting Alexander would be a gut-punch to the Cowboys. Howie Roseman getting another steal would put Dallas fans in the dust, and it would prove once again that Jerry Jones took too long to go "all in."
The Cowboys-Eagles rivlary is one of the most bitter in the NFL. That is precisely why former Cowboys receiver Isaiah Stanback is getting attention for praising Saquon Barkley in one of the more radical takes you will see.
Isaiah Stanback has Saquon Barkley take that will drive Cowboys fans mad
In a segment on "Good Morning Football" on the NFL Network, Stanback was asked if Barkley would be the greatest running back of all-time when he decides to hang it up.
"I think that he's on pace on track... You start thinking of some of the best to ever do it, Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Frank Gore, Barry Sanders, Adrian Peterson, these guys are all pretty much 15,000 yards and up. I think he'll be there at some point in time, because he is one of the most gifted, talented we've ever seen at that position. "Isaiah Stanback
How this topic even came up in the first place is ludicrous. Even though Barry Sanders never won or appeared in a Super Bowl (thanks to the luck of playing with the Detroit Lions), his combination of skills were extremely rare, and the title of GOAT RB's shouldn't just be thrown around out of nowhere.

Even though Barkley just won a Super Bowl to cap one of the best seasons ever for a running back, he is currently 65th on the NFL's all-time rushing list. He has serious ground to make up and has hinted he could retire sooner than later. He is also 28 years old and has been susceptible to injuries.
Cowboys fans will be the very first to point out that Emmitt Smith is the NFL's rushing champ. Barkley is a ways away from Smith and dozens of the other top running backs in league history. The Eagles star will need another historical season to catch Ezekiel Elliott (!) in career rushing yards.
In fairness to Stanback, the question was posed to him. It's not like he went out of his way to anoint Barkley as the potential future GOAT running back. The fact it was even a topic in the first place is strange, but Barkley will need a handful more special years to even enter the GOAT conversation.
