The Dallas Cowboys are 1-2, which isn't ideal, but to make matters worse, CeeDee Lamb exited the Week 3 loss early on and didn't return to the field. This obviously hurt the Cowboys offense and fans were hoping that the injury wasn't too severe and that Lamb could return sooner rather than later.
Stephen Jones appeared on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas and provided an update to the Lamb injury. He said that it's high-ankle sprain and the early reports are that this injury could keep Lamb out anywhere from two to four weeks.
Injury update on CeeDee Lamb isn't great but it could be a lot worse
Lamb is obviously a huge piece for the Cowboys offensively and now the team could be missing him for up to four weeks. The next four games for Dallas come against the Packers, Jets, Panthers, and Commanders so two of those games are going to be viewed as more winnable than the other two.
Then again, if the Cowboys drop that game to the Packers and are at 1-3, things will already be trending in a not-so-great direction for them. The hope is that they can get back to .500 against the Jets and Panthers but, as we've seen, the defense hasn't had much luck slowing teams down so that's going to be a battle. It'll be even more of a battle now that Lamb isn't going to be at Prescott's disposal on offense.
Fortunately, the Cowboys do still have George Pickens, who has scored a touchdown in each of the last two games. Teams will definitely be zeroing in on him now that Lamb is out so we'll see if he's up for the task and can be the player the Cowboys were hoping he'd be when they traded for him.
All things considered, this injury feels like it could be a lot worse. Lamb might not be available for a massive game against the Packers this week but the good news is that, if these reports are accurate, he will at least return and be able to help the offense later on down the road. Let's just hope this team still has some hope by the time he's able to come back and play.
