The Dallas Cowboys can ill-afford to lose their best players for any amount of time. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they were dealt an injury scare very early on against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Already trailing 7-0 to the Bears, quarterback Dak Prescott handed the ball off to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who was lined up in the backfield. Lamb ran towards the line of scrimmage and as he was tackled, the defender landed hard on his left ankle.
Lamb was removed from the game to get checked out by members of the Cowboys' medical staff. Lamb was spotted with his cleat and sock off, and walked gingerly up and down Dallas' bench area before entering the medical tent.
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb suffers ankle injury vs. Bears in Week 3
CeeDee Lamb is now headed into the medical tent. He had the sock off his left foot as he walked up and down the Cowboys sideline for a few minutes.

UPDATE: Lamb has been ruled OUT for the rest of the game.
The last thing the Cowboys needed was for their best player on offense not named Prescott on the sidelines with a potential injury.
The Cowboys were already at a disadvantage entering this season considering they traded away superstar Micah Parsons, their best player on defense. Predictably so, the Cowboys defense struggled, especially in Week 2 against the New York Giants. So losing Lamb for any amount of time is only going to hurt Dallas' chances of competing.
To make matters worse, the Bears took a 14-3 lead over the Cowboys on an incredible flea-flicker touchdown pass to rookie receiver Luther Burden III. The Cowboys need Lamb back on the field, desperately.
So far this season, Lamb has recorded 16 receptions for 222 yards on 24 targets. Lamb has yet to record a touchdown this season.
We will continue to keep you posted on Lamb's status once additional details are provided. For now, he is questionable to return to the game.
UPDATE: Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones said after the game that the team doctors have said that Lamb's ankle injury isn't as serious as it could have been. But Jones said to "keep our fingers crossed."
