Cowboys' Dak Prescott reveals message to CeeDee Lamb after horror show vs. Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys tied their biggest come-from-behind win in franchise history on Sunday, erasing a 21-0 second-quarter deficit against the Philadelphia Eagles to win 24-0 on a Brandon Aubrey field goal as time expired.

Despite the season-saving win, it is impossible to ignore the elephant in the room, and that is CeeDee Lamb, who had his second awful game of the season. Lamb went for 74 receiving yards, but he caught just four of 11 targets. He dropped three passes and was noticeably distraught on the Cowboys' sideline after his end zone drop on 3rd-and-goal with 3:50 left in the fourth quarter.

Lamb was clearly in his head, and it spilled over into his play. The Cowboys are obviously going to rally behind No. 88, and Dak Prescott led that charge after the game.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott encouraged CeeDee Lamb after rough game vs. Eagles

"He's a guy that expects to make a lot of plays," Prescott said, via Cowboys reporter Nicole Hutchison. "For me, [to him} it was 'don't press. Let it go, you're a hell of a player and you know it. When you press, you're not going to get the best version of yourself.' He did a hell of a job responding."

Jerry Jones exaggerates a lot behind the mic, but he is spot on every single time he says that Prescott is one of the best leaders he's ever been around. It's no surprise that Prescott is behind Lamb, but the problem is Lamb getting out of his own head.

For the first time since Week 1 versus Philly, Lamb had the look of a player who was low on confidence. His body language oozed negativity.

There is a lot of speculation going around that Lamb is taking it personally that George Pickens has seemingly supplanted him as the offense's WR1. That feels like a stretch. Lamb and Pickens have a great friendship (see their outing in Las Vegas that got them benched for the opening drive against the Raiders), and Lamb genuinely wants Pickens to be great.

Having said that, that speculation is bound to happen given Lamb's struggles in another game that had a lot of eyes on it. And it certainly doesn't help that Pickens had another incredible game and propelled the Cowboys' comeback.

It's a really odd situation, but there is a five-season sample size of Lamb being among the top receivers in football. Cowboys fans should trust that he will bounce back. With Prescott and the entire locker room supporting him, it's hard to see that not happening. A big game on Thanksgiving against the Chiefs would silence a lot of the noise
