The Dallas Cowboys' latest press conference before the 2026 NFL Draft has given the idea that the pre-draft process spans a bit too longsome serious ammunition, as they managed to somehow rope in a former Head of State to their festivities before the picks are made.

While conducting their annual pre-Draft press conference, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys had to take a pause when an unexpected guest managed to turn up. Of all people who could be in town at this time of the week, would anyone expect former President Bill Clinton to show up?

The 42nd President of the United States, and a native son of Arkansas, interrupted the Cowboys' press conference to say hello to Jones and wish his team well on a new season. The absurdity of that statement should not be lost on any reader, writer, or fan.

Bill Clinton interrupts Dallas Cowboys pre-draft press conference

This isn't the first time Clinton and the Cowboys have linked up, as he was in office when Dallas won multiple Super Bowls in the 1990s. After inviting Jones to the White House multiple times, it looks like Clinton and the Cowboys are still on very friendly terms.

Clinton walked into a very revealing press conference that dropped a major bombshell on Cowboys fans, as Stephen Jones confirmed that they will not be seeking a long-term contract extension with wide receiver George Pickens and are waiting for him to sign the franchise tag for the 2026 season.

Somehow, the notion that a player Dallas traded a third-round pick for that is one year off one of the best productive seasons a wide receiver has had in the entire history of this franchise may not be signed long-term was not the most eye-popping or unexpected takeaway from this event.

If anyone ever needs proof that the pre-draft process is going on a bit too long, consider that there has been enough time between the end of the season and the Draft that somehow a former President has managed to connect themselves to an NFL franchise. In which other sport can you find that?
