Dallas Cowboys have their eyes set on the prize and, right now, that prize is current Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores. When Week 18 is officially in the books, so too will Flores' contract with the Vikings, making him one of the most attractive coordinators in the league this offseason.

The Cowboys have reportedly shown strong interest in Flores and why wouldn't they? The dude has been a legend when it comes to reshaping defenses and, as Cowboys fans have seen this year, their unit needs more than just a tune-up this offseason.

Well, Cowboys fans won't like what a former Vikings player had to say. Former NFL linebacker Anthony Barr, who, yes, spent one year in Dallas in 2022, posted on X that the Vikings needed to back up the Brinks truck to keep Flores in Minneapolis.

While Barr didn't spend a ton of time with Flores as his defensive coordinator in 2023, the 10-year NFL veteran knows damn well the impact he can have on a defense. That's precisely why he wants the Vikings to ensure Flores gets whatever he wants to keep him in the building.

As for Cowboys fans, they're hoping that Jerry Jones can pay up and do whatever he needs to do to ensure that Flores ditches the Vikings to come to Big D. This year's Cowboys defense was not up to the task of slowing the opposition down under Matt Eberflus and there's no debating that Flores would be a massive upgrade.

Even in a disappointing year for the Vikings, Flores and his defense rose to the occasion. They're currently ranked sixth in total defense, third in pass defense, and they're tied for ninth in scoring defense. Clearly, he knows what he's doing and the thought of him taking over the reins in Dallas has Cowboys fans salivating for sure.

Hopefully, the Vikings don't listen to Barr. If Flores truly is a free agent and the Cowboys can hire him, the sky is the limit for this team in 2026.
