If Dallas Cowboys fans are hoping Jerry Jones keeps on wheeling and dealing to make his team better, it seems Jones is more than willing to oblige.

Jones may have never seen a trade he didn't like up to this point, who knows?

After swinging yet another blockbuster deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers to acquire star cornerback Joey Porter Jr., there are still more deals to be made for the Cowboys. Even though Dallas is 1-2 to start the season with a road matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 4, there is urgency from Jones to improve his roster because of how elite his offense is.

What trades could be on the horizon for this Cowboys team after the Joey Porter Jr. deal?

3 more trades the Cowboys should consider after Joey Porter Jr. deal

1. Khalil Mack, EDGE, LA Chargers

At this stage of the 2026 season, some options may now be off the table that previously were considered at least possibilities. Namely, a player like Maxx Crosby was on the trade block during the offseason, and has been the subject of tons of trade rumors since he was traded to (and then sent back from) the Baltimore Ravens.

With the Raiders entering Week 4 with a 3-0 record, the option of trading for Maxx Crosby probably isn't on the table until we see where that team is at heading into the deadline.

For now, a cheaper alternative could significantly boost the Cowboys' pass rush off the edge. Khalil Mack is still getting it done with the Los Angeles Chargers at the age of 35. He has 10 pressures, four QB hits, two sacks, and three tackles for loss in the first three games of the season.

With the Chargers starting the season 0-3, they might be willing to move Mack for a Day 3 pick, and the Cowboys could add a grizzled veteran into their rotation for the short term.

2. Cody Barton, LB, Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are 0-3 to start the season, and they might be willing to part with some of their veteran players if they find themselves out of contention in the AFC South sooner rather than later.

Cody Barton has been an underrated player for the past couple of seasons, and with the way this Cowboys team has struggled at the linebacker position, he could be a really nice pickup.

He's been much better in coverage this season than anyone expected, and he has proven himself to be a pretty effective three-down linebacker since he signed with the Denver Broncos ahead of the 2024 season.

The Titans have an emerging rookie at linebacker in Anthony Hill Jr., and Cedric Gray has also been a tackling machine for them. They might get some decent value for Barton at this year's deadline and already have replacement plans in place.

3. Tony Pollard, RB, Tennessee Titans

There is no need for nostalgia just for the sake of nostalgia, but this could be a fun reunion for Jerry Jones to pursue at the right price.

The Cowboys' depth behind Javonte Williams is currently non-existent. Through three games, the only other running back on the roster besides Williams with a notable number of carries is Tyler Goodson, who has six.

And even with Williams as the workhorse back, the Cowboys could use a little explosiveness at the position again, and Pollard has brought that to the table throughout his NFL career.

Getting him off of the sinking ship that is the Titans and on a team that hopes to compete for a division title with the Cowboys? That could be a win for everyone involved.
