Let’s face it. The Dallas Cowboys last week came out and gave us another roller coaster ride, but this time, they weren’t able to finish it off with a victory.

This week, with their slot in the playoffs locked in, the Cowboys are facing the Eagles in an NFC East battle that could be a preview of things to come in the postseason.

This time around, it’s the Eagles who are hurting at QB, as the two sides play for bragging rights ahead of what both teams hope are deep runs in the playoffs, all the way to the Super Bowl.

For that to happen, the Cowboys will need some luck, as well as solid games from their offense and defense.

Here are a few of those things I’m (boldly) predicting will happen in this week’s special Christmas Eve game at AT&T Stadium.

4 bold predictions for the Cowboys vs Eagles Week 16 matchup

4. Tony Pollard’s Key to Victory

The one area where the Eagles have been vulnerable this season is their ability to contain running backs, with opposing team rushers averaging 4.7 yards a carry.

The last time these teams played, the Cowboys rushed for 134 yards, but that isn’t where I believe Dallas will hit them this time around.

While they will continue to run the ball, this time around I believe Pollard (with Prescott under center) will tip the balance in the Cowboys’ favor.

The Eagles’ linebackers, as a whole, haven’t fared well when targeted in the passing game, with a completion percentage of 62.9% against them. The Cowboys, with Pollard, have the opportunity to create matchups that will force these Eagles linebackers to try and cover the shifty ‘back out of the backfield or in the slot.

I believe that the Cowboys will take advantage of this early and a lot on third downs to keep the chains moving.

Game Prediction: Pollard rushes for 65 yards and has 5 catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns.
