The Dallas Cowboys only have themselves to blame for their Christmas Eve matchup against the mighty Philadelphia Eagles not meaning much.
That said, the game still has meaning. It’s unlikely, but if the Cowboys win out, and the Eagles go winless the rest of the way, Dallas will supplant Philadelphia as the NFC East leaders … and the top seed in the wide-open NFC.
The Cowboys wouldn’t need as much help if they didn’t fall victim to an obvious trap game in Jacksonville, but there’s no sense crying over spilled milk. The only thing to do is focus on the next opponent, and they don’t get better than the Eagles, who’ve looked the part of a Super Bowl contender all year.
This will be one of 11 scheduled Christmas Eve games. While there are eight early games, Cowboys-Eagles is one of two games in the 4 p.m. EST window, joining 49ers-Commanders, which will kickoff 20 minutes earlier at 4:05 p.m..

Stop us if you’ve heard this before in 2022, but Saturday’s Cowboys game will be broadcast on FOX. Kickoff is at 4:25 p.m. EST. Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen will be for the Cowboys for the second straight week. Hopefully, FOX’s lead broadcast team brings good luck to America’s Team this time around.

The Cowboys were riding a serious wave of momentum. Then, the second week against Jacksonville happened, and they’ve regressed to “pretender” status in the eyes of the general media. Unfortunately, we likely won’t get to see how Dallas stacks up against the Jalen Hurts-led Eagles, but the ‘Boys need a win more than anything and they should do just that vs Gardner Minshew and company. 24-20, Cowboys.
