Week 1 of NFL football is here and the first Sunday Night Football game of the season is a rematch between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys opened up as 1.5-point underdogs on Monday, which didn’t seem to faze DE DeMarcus Lawrence. As of Thursday afternoon, Dallas is now 2.5-point underdogs, +116 on the moneyline, and the total for the game is 50.5.

With only the preseason to go off of, which didn’t feature most teams’ star players, it’s hard to tell what will happen in this matchup. Both teams come into this contest with injury concerns that may shake up the rosters a bit.  For now, we tried to look at the best possible prop bets (based on availability) for you to take in this contest.

Dallas Cowboys 3 Best Early Prop Bets for Week 1 vs. the Buccaneers

**All numbers are from FanDuel as of Thursday at 4:00 pm CT**

1. CeeDee Lamb Prop Bet: OVER 72.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

We all know that CeeDee Lamb is going to be heavily prioritized in this game given Amari Cooper is gone, Michael Gallup will very likely not play, and James Washington is certainly out. Cooper had a huge game against Tampa Bay last season and now it is Lamb’s turn to do the same as the new WR1 for this team. Last year, when Lamb had more than six targets in a game, he had over 72.5 yards six out of nine times. It’s highly likely Lamb will receive more than six targets as the new leader of the WR corps.

2. Dak Prescott Prop Bet: OVER 268.5 passing yards (-114)

A lot of people are doubting Dak Prescott and think he’s under way too much pressure to succeed, especially given the current issues on the offensive line. The QB is finally fully healthy but will be counting on a very broken offensive line to provide him support. However, an incredibly important stat tweeted out this week is important to remember:

Prescott does great work against Tampa Bay. In his first game back after his gruesome injury (the Week 1 battle vs. Bucs), Prescott had 403 passing yards. Plus, if the Cowboys are true underdogs, it’s likely they’ll need to complete more passes (even short ones to Tony Pollard or Ezekiel Elliott) in order to stage a comeback if they’re behind.

3. Dalton Schultz Prop Bet: OVER 48.5 receiving yards (-114)

Everyone has been spending so much time worrying about the wide receiver room, but sometimes we forget that one of Prescott’s favorite targets in 2021 was tight end Dalton Schultz — who has also become a fantasy football favorite this season. With Gallup and Washington out, expect the Cowboys to include Schultz a lot in the offensive game plan. That means his targets will undeniably go up, especially if the Bucs opt to double-team Lamb. Schultz had 6+ targets in 11 games last season. He had over 48.5 yards in eight of those 11 games. The tight end has a great chance at 49 yards.
