5 Broncos players to watch for in Cowboys’ first preseason game

3. Brandon Johnson, WR

Another rookie competing for a chance to catch passes from Wilson is UDFA WR Brandon Johnson. The Broncos already have an incredibly strong receiving corps, but as the Cowboys learned this offseason, injuries and other things can change that very quickly. Depth is important, and these preseason games will show that.

Johnson spent his final collegiate year at the University of Central Florida where he had 38 receptions for 565 yards and 11 touchdowns. That’s incredibly impressive. While Johnson will likely get a chance to catch some passes in the offense, the WR will most likely land somewhere in the special teams’ squad.

Beyond that, this rookie UDFA is likely hoping to make the practice squad, learn the playbook, and earn his way into the depth chart.
