We all know that there are times during the draft when teams are able to make deals to swap picks in order to get a player they really want. In some rare cases, we’ve seen players traded in the draft by teams to get a player at a position if they feel that player is better than what is on their boards. This could be a situation that Wyatt Davis falls into.

With a new head coach and general manager at the helm for the Minnesota Vikings, there could be some players available via a trade with the GM looking to put his stamp on this team. Davis was coming off an ACL injury before being drafted by the Vikings. He was unable to get a starting job and instead lost out to Oli Udoh last season and only played snaps on special teams.

Why the Cowboys? Coming out of college, Wyatt was seen as a mauler in the running game and a solid pass protector at Ohio State. After not being able to get the starting job with the Vikings, the Cowboys could try working the phones with the Vikings rookie GM in order to pry Davis away for either a late day two or day three pick. Davis is one year into his rookie deal and would be a bargain if they were able to make the trade.
