I know what you’re thinking… there’s no way the Steelers are going to be willing to give up Chase Claypool after just two seasons, but hear me out. After having a breakout season in 2020, Claypool was unable to follow up that success in 2021, and that inability to make plays started turning into problems on the field and in the locker room for the Steelers.

As Claypool’s frustrations grew, so did the penalties on the field for the young receiver. This led to him being benched last season by head coach Mike Tomlin. Now, there have been reports that teams are calling to see if Claypool may be available via trade. Maybe the Cowboys are one of those teams.

Why the Cowboys? This team needs a big red zone threat receiver that Dak Prescott can lob the ball up to and let him go and get it, much like he did with Dez Bryant during his time on the team. Claypool’s deceptive speed along with his large catch radius would also make some of the issues surrounding Prescott’s accuracy problems a moot point. He also seems like the type of player that the Joneses have been missing since Bryant was let go back in 2018.

It’s hard to take things that Stephen and Jerry say seriously. But if Stephen does still claim there are moves to be made in free agency, these four are a great place to start for the bargain bin Cowboys.
