2. Christian Watson, North Dakota State

I feel pretty confident in saying that not many people have heard of the name Christian Watson. That is mostly because he played in a run-heavy offense at North Dakota State. But, now is a great time to learn about this 6-5, 210-pound freak athlete.

Watson is a very skilled player with great size that helps him excel at catching 50/50 balls. Watson was a very versatile player at NDST. Not only was he their best receiver, but he also carried the ball and returned kicks. He was even named a first-team All-American kickoff returner for his junior season.

As a receiver in 2021, Watson caught 43 passes for 800 yards and seven touchdowns. But, drops have been an issue for him throughout his career. According to PFF, Watson had 16 drops on 120 catchable targets in his college career.

The former Bison saw his stock rise as much as anyone throughout the NFL Combine. Looking at his relative athletic score, he looks like the best athlete in this entire class with a 10/10 score.

Watson also showed out at the Senior Bowl which helped get eyes on him that normally would not be during the college season. Looking at how deep the class is at receiver should allow Watson to make it to 56 if the Cowboys wanted to spend a second-round pick on him.

Adding great athletes at premium positions is always a good idea. Hopefully, the Cowboys will value Watson as a future star in their offense, which he certainly could be.
